Juanita -June- Messer Stevens, age 82, of Bradley Hollow, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born June 1, 1927, in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late James and Lana May Messer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Her husband, Delbert -Dell- Stevens, passed away August 4, 1966. June is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law: Jay and Sandra Stevens of Shelby, Ohio, Wayne and Dian Stevens of Morehead, Kentucky, Dewey and Cheryl Stevens of Crestline, Ohio, Ernie and Janie Stevens of Morehead, Kentucky, and Bodie and Joyce Stevens of Morehead, Kentucky; five daughters and sons-in-law: Lana and Philip Fraley of Morehead, Kentucky, Linda and Buck Caudill of Morehead, Kentucky, Bonnie and Randy Henderson of Morehead, Kentucky, Brenda and Russell Carter of Morehead, Kentucky, and Bethel and Tony Francis of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Leonard Messer and his wife Ann of Knox, Indiana; two sisters, Martha Jesse and husband Earl of Seymour, Illinois, and Bobbie Johnson of Ingalls, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Suzie Evans Fultz. Mrs. Stevens was a loving mother whose life was centered on raising her children and who was -Granny June- to her devoted grandchildren and countless others. She was a faithful member of the United Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Othar Messer and Brother Lewis Baire officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: John Stevens, Dale Stevens, Brent Stevens, Morelan Fraley, Ronnie Cooley, Robbie Cooley, Shane Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Jonathan Martin, Michael Francis, Casey Stevens, and Nathan Stevens. Visitation is Sunday, January 10, 2010, after 5 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Sunday, January 10, 2010, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Monday, January 11, 2010, at 1 p.m. Interment: Fultz Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky
