Obituary

Juanita R. Briles Thompson, age 90, of Georgetown, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. Born September 11, 1927, in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lyda Moore Briles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James V. Thompson, Sr., who passed away February 21, 2005; one son, James V. Thompson, Jr., on June 18, 2009, and a brother, Billy Briles. Mrs. Thompson is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Talmadge) Lewis of Georgetown; one son, Richard G. (Sue) Thompson of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Earcle Shue of Greensboro, NC; two sisters-in-law, Mary Messer and Susie Cassidy, both of Morehead; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, homemaker, and member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery on Camelot Drive, Morehead. Visitation is from noon until 1 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
