Joyce Ann Maxon

Joyce Ann Gose Maxson, age 72, of N. Blair Street, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born October 23, 1953, in Bath County, Joyce was the daughter of the late George Gose and Ruby Purvis Gose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Paul Sloan; three brothers, Elzie Gose, Kenny Gose, and George Thomas Gose, Jr., and one sister, Beatrice Warmouth.

She is survived by two sons, Paul W. Jones, Jr. of Sharpsburg and Brandon Scott Jones (Kristina) of Morehead; two sisters, Barbara Donathan and Paula Whitehill (Barry Sexton), all of Morehead; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is her significant other, Ronnie Lykins of Morehead; special friends, Penny Fraley, Patty Snowden, and Anita Sammons; several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends.

Joyce was a former employee of Walmart in Mt. Sterling and Bath Manufacturing. She enjoyed riding horses, dancing, and spending time with her family and friend. Joyce will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Sloan Cemetery on Brinegar Road with Brother John Bowman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Matt Donathan, Kevin Jones, Bradley Jones, Cody Jones, Jonathan Jones, and Zachary McCarty.
