Joyce Ann Hopkins Cox, age 60, of Maxey Flat Road, Hillsboro, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was born December 4, 1955, in Mason County, a daughter of the late Robert Truman and Goldie Florence Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Paul Cox, who passed away February 9, 2005; her parents; one brother, Roy Hopkins; one sister, Ruby King; and father-in-law, Cleddith Cox. Mrs. Cox is survived by two daughters, Rebecca McIntosh and husband Michael of Hillsboro and Rachel Webb and husband Skylar of Sharkey; and four grandchildren, Alexis McIntosh, Shelby Webb, Jaden Webb, and Lindsay McIntosh. Other survivors include four brothers, Everett Hopkins and wife Carol of Augusta, Robert Hopkins and wife Peggy of Maysville, Marvin Hopkins and wife Janet of Dayton, Ohio, and Herbert Hopkins and wife Jackie of Maysville; four sisters, Gertrude O'Cull, Mary Hunt and husband Sam, Martha Combs, and Betty Sweet, all of Maysville; mother-in-law, Frances Cox; sisters-in-law, Janice Story and husband Mike, and Debbie Cox; brother-in-law, Mike Cox and wife Angela; several nieces and nephews; extended family; and best friend, Vickie Emmons. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She endured many years of health problems but inspired others with her positive attitude. She was of the Christian faith and watched Southland Christian Church on Sunday morning. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Herbie Stallard and Rev. Jack Hinton officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
