Joyce Ann Carpenter Dixon, age 62, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born on May 26, 1961, in Warren, Ohio, and is the daughter of Eileen Cowger Hite and the late Elder Herman Carpenter. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Romane Carpenter and David Elisha Carpenter; one sister, Sandra Dee Carpenter Cornwell; and step-mother, Donna Thedford Carpenter.

Joyce is survived by her mother, Eileen Cowger Hite of Grayson; one son, Nathaniel Dixon (Julia Holbrook) of Rush, Kentucky; two daughters, Lori P'Simer (Scotty) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Sunshine Lands (Adam) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Ivory Dixon, Wrangler Lands, Maverick Lands, Chloe Carroll, and Serenity P'Simer.

Other survivors include three brothers, Ken Carpenter of Warren, Ohio, Steve Carpenter and Joe Carpenter (Branndi), all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Elizabeth McClurg (Orville) of Morehead, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members.

Joyce was an insurance agent and owner of Lewis Insurance of Morehead. She had a love for art and enjoyed painting, gardening, caring for her plants, and going to the ocean. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

At her request, there will be no visitation or services held.
