Josh
Ferguson
Jan 20, 1982 — Aug 21, 2012
Joshua Eugene Ferguson, age 30, of Conn Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in a logging accident. Josh was born on January 20, 1982, in Morehead, Kentucky, and is the son of Lois and Bill Tackitt and Eugene and Sherry Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandfather, -Poppy- Cyril Conn, and his paternal grandparents, Ray and Rosie Little Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his -Nanny- Evelyn Lyons Conn, who along with Poppy helped raise him and his sister, Jessica Tackitt Koehler. He is also survived by his fianc-e, Tiphanie Bowling, and her children, Lauren and Oliver DeAtley. Additional survivors include two stepsisters, a niece, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will greatly miss him. Josh was a dispatcher at Morehead State University for five years, but his love of the outdoors pulled him away to become a self-employed logger. From an early age, Josh loved spending time with his fire department family. He seldom missed a Tuesday night meeting and couldn-t wait until he was old enough to be a real firefighter. He was currently a Captain with the Elliottville Volunteer Fire Department. Josh took his First Responder training very seriously and no matter what time, where he was, or what he was doing, he stopped everything to respond when he heard those tones drop. Josh loved all the activities he and Tiphanie enjoyed together with the children and was looking forward to their upcoming wedding next month. Josh was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and for many years was active in recording the services, both audio and video. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brothers James Allen and Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Conn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Elliottville Fire Department. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Elliottville Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 161, Elliottville, KY 40317, where Josh-s love of these special people can live on. Visitation: Thursday, August 23, 2012, after 3 p.m. Funeral: Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Conn Cemetery
