Jonathan Michael Terry, 27, of Fogg Pike, Mt. Sterling, was born November 12, 1988, in Lexington and passed away June 20, 2016, at his residence. Jon is survived by his mother, Joni Mae McCarty of Mt. Sterling; his father, Michael Allen Terry and wife Shelly of Jeffersonville; two brothers, Jacob Christopher Terry of Lexington and Nathaniel Allen Terry of Jeffersonville; and one sister, Hannah Gayle Willoughby of Mt. Sterling. Also surviving are paternal grandfather, Hubert Terry of Mt. Sterling; maternal grandparents, Jim and Connie Gibbs McCarty of Mt. Sterling; maternal great grandparents, Vernon and Geneva Mae Gibbs of Mt. Sterling; and several aunts, uncles, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Judy Terry, and maternal great grandparents, Carl and Lottie McCarty. Jon graduated from Lakeside Christian Academy in 2008 and from Long Island Recording Studio in Lexington in 2010. He had a passion for music, song writing, and playing the guitar. Jon loved all his family, his pit bull 'Jo Jo' and mowing with his Kubota. He was a member of the Spring Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Spring Street Baptist Church with Pastor John Runyon, Jim McCarty, Jr., and Rev. Grant Cannoy officiating. Private graveside services will be in Machpelah Cemetery.
