Johnny Ray Kissinger, age 66, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born May 28, 1953, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he was a son of the late Johnny Lovel and Janet Elaine Bellew Kissinger. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Clifton R. Jent.

Johnny is survived by his companion of 30 years, Danette Adkins; one son, Jonathan (Brittany) Kissinger of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Amy (Joseph) Adams of Sandy Hook and Natasha (J. R.) Reynolds of Morehead; two stepsons, Toby Kronmueller and Joe David Adkins, both of Morehead; and nine grandchildren, Aydin and Kaydin Kissinger, Mallory and Peyton Gilliam, Raelyn and Jayda Adams, Trenton Reynolds, Natalie Kronmueller, and Macy Jo Adkins.

Other survivors include one brother, Ronnie Earl Kissinger, and one sister, Tammy Owens, both of Morehead; stepmother, Kathleen Keeton Kissinger of West Liberty; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Johnny moved to Kentucky from Michigan with his family at a young age. He was a 1971 graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University.  He served six years in the Army National Guard and was a self-employed truck driver for 49 years for various companies.  He had a passion for semi's and would work on them tirelessly.

Johnny loved motorcycles and as a young man raced motorcycles, dragsters and trucks. He was an avid U. K. fan, enjoyed loafing with his many friends at his hang out spots, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  Johnny will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Jack Evans officiating.  Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Kissinger II, Joshua Jent, Carl Christy, Bobby Callahan, Guy Reynolds, Willard Calvert, Donnie Oney, and John Porter.  Honorary pallbearers: Grandsons and Mark Hamilton and Doug Ward.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
