Obituary

John Wesley Kissick, age 86, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville. He was born May 22, 1930, in Hillsboro, a son of the late Henry Newton and Nannie Ezetta Spence Kissick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul Wesley Kissick; one grandson, Austin Brown; one brother, Carl Kissick; and two sisters, Lou Spurlock and Emma Pearl Kissick Debord Burke. Ruby Mae Flora Kissick, his wife of 33 years, whom he married August 10, 1978, passed away July 24, 2012. John is survived by one son, Randy Wayne (Wanda) Kissick of Oklahoma; two daughters, Shirley (Wayne) Baker of Brown County, Indiana, and Pamela (Mike) Brown of Greenwood, Indiana; 5 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Homer Kissick of Hillsboro and Ronald Kissick of Muncie, Indiana; one sister, Zona Shelley of Hillsboro; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. John was a carpenter and of the Church of God faith. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch visiting with his friends and spending time with his beloved dog, Buddy. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Herman Shelley, Nicholas Shelley, Monty Jent, Gayle Burke, Gary Spurlock, John Northcutt, Carl Kissick, Jr., and Bobby Flora Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
