John D. Hunt, age 82, of Dogwood Drive, Wellington, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 3, 1935, in Pikeville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Dock and Loni Brown Hunt. John is survived by his wife, Virginia Eckardt Hunt, whom he wed April 25, 1997; one brother, Clinton Hunt and Mary of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; one sister, Carol Patton and Bill of Pikeville; five beautiful granddaughters, Helena, Abby, Chloe, Maya, and Lexi, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. John was an employee of Ford Motor Company in Sterling Heights, Michigan, for 23 years. Following his retirement, he moved to Kentucky and enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, woodworking, and remodeling and refurbishing furniture. He loved people, especially his granddaughters. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Big Woods Cemetery in Wellington with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.
