John Douglas 'Doug' Keeton, age 73, of Clearfield Street, Morehead, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born September 6, 1940, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Chester and Cleo Hall Keeton. Doug is survived by his wife, Barbara Kidd Keeton, whom he married January 10, 1959; one son, Robert (Dana) Keeton of Salt Lick; one daughter; Tammy (Mark) Caudill of Clearfield; one granddaughter, Jessica (Kris) Long of Morehead; one great granddaughter, Alivia Drew Long; one sister, Jo Anne McBrayer of Olive Hill; one brother, Chester Jr. (Jan) Keeton of Sadieville; extended family members; and many friends. Doug was the owner and operator of Doug's Radiator and Body Shop and Keeton's Trucking. In addition to being self-employed, he was also a truck driver for Mason Dixon, Younger Brothers, and Ruth Paving. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working as a night watchman for Welded Construction. He was a partner with his family in R.I.G.S. and owned and managed several rental properties. Doug was a member of and past master of Phelps Masonic Lodge 482, member and past president of Morehead Shrine Club, and member of El Hasa Shriners of Ashland. He enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family and friends. Doug always had a smile, a good joke, and a little wiggle in his ears. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at 2:45 p.m. by Phelps Masonic Lodge 482. Burial will follow at the Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers: Chester Boyd, Mark Caudill, Kris Long, Donnie Hall Sr., Billy C. Evans, David Kidd, Billy Kidd, Junior Stevens, Buckie Greenhill, Jackie Plank, Jamie Fraley, Philip Barber, Danny Lewis, Joe Carter, Roger Carter, Dewayne Allen, Neal Davenport, and Lee Dupuy. Honorary pallbearers: brothers of Phelps Masonic Lodge and members of Morehead Shrine Club. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Morehead Shrine Club, c/o Randy Barker, 475 Cincinnati Branch, Morehead, KY 40351 or a charity of choice. Visitation: Monday, March 24, 2014, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 3 p.m.; Masonic service, 2:45 p.m. Interment: Rose Cemetery
