John David Donahue, age 72, of Highway 60 East, Salt Lick, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born September 28, 1944, in Bangor, he was the son of the late Crystal and Lorene Staton Donahue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Donahue, and three sisters, Mary Sue Donahue, Martha Elizabeth Donahue, and Hazel Melton. John is survived by his wife, Deborah Highley Donahue; two daughters, Lora Donahue and Deanna (Willie) Roberts, all of Morehead; two sons, Allen Donahue of Morehead and Allan (Melissa ) Mann of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Clay Caldwell; Paul Gambill; Jesse, James, and Allie Mann; Lily, Kevin, and Kate Roberts; and Katie Crouch; and two great grandchildren, Ott and Ella Caldwell. Other survivors include three sisters, Etta Mae Brown and Wanda Gilley, both of Morehead and Naomi Donahue Moore Harris and husband Lloyd of West Liberty; sister-in-law, Sheila Highley of Kilgore, Texas; special friends, Stephanie and Mike Crouch, Rob Howard, and Ricky Lee Campbell; nieces and nephews; cousins; co-workers at Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery; and his hunting buddies. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed gardening, telling stories, and playing with the grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery employees and honorary pallbearers retired employees of Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mudlick First Church of God, 9067 Hwy. 36, Olympia, KY 40358 Visitation: Saturday, November 12, 2016, noon until 2 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 2 p.m. Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Clearfield Cemetery
