John Ray Dean, Jr., age 68, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at his residence.

Born February 1, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Johnny was a son of the late John Ray Dean, Sr. and Mary Patsy Halpin Dean.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Joan Dean, Gerald Edward Dean, and Tommy Dean.

He is survived by two nephews: Ronald John Dean of Austin, Texas, and Michael Patrick Dean of Chicago, Illinois; one niece: Kelly Dean Cirenza of Huntley, Illinois; three great nieces and one great nephew: Avery Rae Dean, Julia Marie Dean, Cole Cirenza, and Brooke Cirenza; and many cousins and extended family in Morehead and across the country.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.  A resident of Morehead for the past 25 years, Johnny was a former long-time employee of Allen's IGA.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
