Joe David Crawford, 40, passed away October 21, 2015, in Palmetto, Florida, after a short struggle with multiple myeloma. He is survived by his parents, Betty and Bo Crawford of Lakeport, Florida; his wife, Kelly Dixon Crawford of Bradenton, Florida; two daughters, Kara Grace and Kasey Jo; a son, Kameron Elijah; two aunts, Barbara Amburgey and Sharon Justice; and a cousin, Daphne Lowe. Also surviving are in-laws Martha and Doug Dixon and brother-in-law Dougie Dixon of Letcher, Kentucky. Joe was the grandson of the late Grace and Homer Amburgey and June Coker Crawford and Marland Crawford. Joe was born on March 16, 1975, in Lexington, Kentucky, and grew up in Morehead, where he graduated from Rowan County Senior High School. He was a dedicated athlete, playing baseball, basketball, and football. Joe continued his education with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and health promotions and a master's degree in sports administration from Morehead State University. Serving in a variety of occupational fields, Joe was employed as a recruiter for Morehead State University, pharmaceutical representative with Abbott, sales consultant with DNA Stat and 4 E Industrial Supply. His passion was his family, especially sharing his skill in team sports with his three children. Joe's love of scuba diving led him to become certified as an EANX diver, Advanced Scuba Diver, and Level One Freediver. He was also pursuing his Captain's license. Joe leaves behind a multitude of friends who played an important role in his life and for whom he held great love. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Brown Cemetery with David Gifford officiating.
