Obituary

Gloria 'JoAnn' Fultz Kennard Conley, age 77, of Soldier, Kentucky, was born May 25, 1936, at Soldier and passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ivan Conley on September 15, 1999; her son, Robert Frank Kennard on December 14, 2011; her mother, Opal Fultz; her brother, Hubert Fultz; and daughter-in-law, Andrea R. Kennard. JoAnn is survived by three sons, David L. Kennard of Elsmere, Kentucky, Neal Conley and his wife Patty, along with their daughter, Hannah Nicole (her granddaughter) of Morehead, Kentucky, and Michael Conley of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Jenny Moore of Clearfield, Kentucky; one niece; and three nephews. JoAnn retired from the Soldier Post Office, where she served as postmaster and assistant postmaster. Also, for many years, she was an insurance agent for New York Life. As an active participant in the community, JoAnn was a member of the Soldier Homemakers, co-founded Soldier-to Soldier, which sent care packages to military troops, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, and served as administrator of the Clark Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Memoriam will be held at the Hampton Inn in Morehead, Kentucky, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2013, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan), P.O. Box 454, Morehead, KY 40351 or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Sunday, September 29, 2013, 2-5 p.m., Hampton Inn, Morehead
