Joan Thornbury, age 71, of Whispering Pines, Clearfield, Kentucky, formerly of Winchester, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at the residence of Thelma Culbert. Born December 24, 1936, in Rowan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Edna Phillips Thornbury. She is survived by one brother, Donnie R. Thornbury of Clearfield, Kentucky; four nephews, Roger, Rodney, Roy, and Robbie Thornbury; her cousin, Thelma Culbert, with whom she had resided since 2001; and best friend, Donna Donahue. Joan had been a homemaker and loved to piece quilts and crochet. She also had a special love for animals, especially Abby and Missy. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Max Molihan officiating. A graveside service and interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana.
