Joan Ann Hubbard Hamlin, age 71, of C. Workman Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center Unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Born September 1, 1940, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late James Madison and Alma Turner Hubbard. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles -Chuck- Hubbard, who passed away April 23, 2000. Joan is survived by her husband Ronald -Bo- Hamlin, whom she married on August 30, 1958; one daughter, Denise Ann Hamlin of Lexington, Kentucky; one son, Lonnie Dean Hamlin and wife Kathy of Radcliff, Kentucky; one grandson, James Hamlin; one granddaughter, Heather Welch and husband David; two great granddaughters, Tamara Lynn Hamlin and Emily Welch; and special grand dog, BJ. Other survivors include one brother, Freddy Lee Hubbard of Menifee County, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and special friends. Joan, a sales associate for The Big Store, Judy-s, and Martin-s Department Store for a number of years, greatly enjoyed her lifetime friendships with coworkers. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, and outings with friends and family. Most of all, Joan cherished the special times spent her grandchildren and BJ. She attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Morehead. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher and Rev. Brad Bennington officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: James Hamlin, Chris Salyers, Scottie Hubbard, Bruce Hubbard, Eric Hamlin, Donald Dewitt and Jimmy Moore. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of First Free Will Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Christian Church. Visitation is 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, June 15, 2012, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Brown Cemetery
