Jo Lee Thompson, 52, of Poplar Lane, Morehead, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013, at her residence. Born April 3, 1961, in Lexington, Jo was a daughter of the late Wilber E. Thompson, who passed away in 1983, and Constance Gillem Thompson, who passed away in 2000. She is survived by one daughter, Laura Thompson of Morehead; one son, Christopher Thompson of Morehead; and three grandchildren, Kadin, Serinity, and Mason Thompson, all of Morehead. Other survivors include one brother, Roy Thompson of Owensboro; one sister, Lilah Thompson Blanton and husband Jerry of Salt Lick; one aunt, Johnna Green of Newport, Tennessee; and one niece, Sheena Thompson of Morehead. Jo was a school bus driver for the Rowan County Board of Education for 14 years and retired in 2012 after being diagnosed with cancer. Jo enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Minister Dwayne Brewer officiating.
