Obituary

Jewel Elizabeth -Libby- Foster Holcombe, age 89, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Williamsburg Landings Retirement Complex, Williamsburg, Virginia. She was born September 7, 1917, in Morehead, Kentucky, to the late Alvie Lee Foster and Sallie Foster. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Foster Tucker, and brother, Alvie Lee Foster. She is survived by her husband, Robert Allen Holcombe, of Williamsburg, Virginia; her son, Charles Foster Plymale and daughter-in-law Vlatka Splajt Plymale of Tiffin, Iowa; two grandsons, Charles Foster Plymale Jr. of Arlington, Virginia and Philip David Plymale of Mililani, Hawaii; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Plymale Montes of Keller, Texas; and one great-grandson, Jarod Plymale of Mililani, Hawaii. Other survivors include four nieces, Sallie McDaniel of Douglasville, Georgia, Christine Smelser of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jackie Foster Doty of Ashland, Tennessee, and Sara Jane Foster of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and two nephews, David Foster Tucker of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Alvie Lee Foster of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Libby Foster Holcombe worked most of her life as an executive secretary for the trade association supporting the lumber industry in Washington, DC. She enjoyed her family, books, cooking, cats, travel and music. A memorial service will be held at 1 p. m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel. She will be buried with her family at Clearfield Cemetery immediately following the service. Funeral: Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. Interment: Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, Kentucky
