Jessie Lorene McClain Saunders, age 88, of Ringos Mill Road, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. Born October 12, 1929, in Farmers, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Luetishey Purvis McClain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Cooper and Jewell Johnson, and one brother, Russell McClain. Her husband of 45 years, Omer Wilson Saunders, passed away September 22, 1999. Lorene is survived by one son, Jim McClain of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Loretta Karen Meeks and husband Eddie of Hillsboro; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was homemaker and a former aide at Akron General Medical Center for 19 years in Akron, Ohio. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making crafts and sewing. Lorene was a member of Sharkey Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Denton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bradley Flora, Eddie Meeks, Mike Mastin, Adam Gardner, Barry Thompson, James Meeks, Greg Flora, and Ralph Cox. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
