Jessie Madeline Brown Peyton, age 73, of Peyton Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her residence. She was born October 31, 1935, in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Andrew Bert Brown and Maude Lou Ramey Brown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Waldo Peyton; one son, Ernest Lloyd Peyton; and three granddaughters, Amber Igo, Bethany Peyton, and Laura Beth Thurman. She is survived by two sons, Bert Jr. Peyton of Morehead, Kentucky, and James Granville (Brenda) Peyton of Nashville, Tennessee; five daughters, Patty J. (James) Hall of Wellington, Kentucky, Betty O. (Jeff) Catron of Morehead, Kentucky, Chloe L. (Roy) Mays of Wellington, Kentucky, Judy A. (James) Brewer of Morehead, Kentucky, and Linda N. (Billy) Thurman of Richmond, Kentucky; one brother, Harold Granville Brown of Morehead, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Jessie enjoyed reading, fishing, and gardening. She was a homemaker and former caregiver who was devoted to her family, friends, and God. Jessie attended the Salt Lick Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands and Pastor Roger Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Peyton Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bert Peyton, James Peyton, Billy Thurman, James Hall, Shane Ackerman, and Bucky Catron. Honorary: Jeffrey Catron, James Brewer, Joshua Back, Ray Peyton, Dale Crouch, Bob Tackett, and Bobby Jr. Tackett.
