Jess Brewer, age 81, of Wellington, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Jess was born October 27, 1942, in Menifee County, Kentucky, to the late Joe and Liza Hampton Brewer.

He was a retired farmer and Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice employee.

Jess was also the Pastor Emeritus at Big Woods Community Church, where he had faithfully served for 52 years, with over 45 years as Lead Pastor.  He retired from full-time pastorship in 2022 but remained actively involved in the Lord's work up to and including the day of his passing.

He loved his family, church, and community, and above all else, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Jess also enjoyed gardening, golfing with friends and family, watching sports, and last, but not least, mowing his beautiful yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Donald Brewer; a sister-in-law, Alberta Jo Law Brewer; and a brother-in-law, Meril Patrick.

He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Kathleen "Kay" Rose Brewer; his son; Gregory Brewer (Jessica), his daughter, Kimberly Brewer Hale (Kevin); and his son, Oscar Brewer (Angie); seven grandchildren, Lindsey Hale Swartz (Tanner), Seth Brewer (Megan), Erika Brewer, Luke Brewer, Ellyssa Gordon, Chase Gordon, and Emily Gordon; and two precious great granddaughters, Lauren Kay Swartz and Alaina Grace Brewer.

Also surviving are two sisters, Lola Brewer Patrick and JoAnn Brewer Pugh (Doug); one brother, Dean Brewer (Lynda), as well as a several nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Big Woods Community Church with Pastor Jimmy Daulton officiating.  Burial will follow in Big Woods Community Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Seth Brewer, Luke Brewer, Tanner Swartz, Kenny Wayne Patrick, Jerry Dale Patrick, Jody Pugh, and Steve Brewer.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Big Woods Community Church, 7760 Hwy 1693, Wellington, KY  40387.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Big Woods Community Church Cemetery, 7760 Hwy 1693, Wellington, KY  40387.
