Jerry Douglas May, age 65, of Springport, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Born October 11, 1943, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Samuel Henry and Jessie D. (Johnson) May. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Hershal May, James May, Murl May, George May and Fred Puckett. Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn K. (Hollingsworth) May. Also, son, Lloyd Douglas May (wife: Cynthia) of Springport, Indiana; daughter, Tina Marie Clauson of Muncie, Indiana; four grandsons, Dustin R. May of Oakville, Indiana, Joshua P. May of Springport, Indiana, Michael J. Clauson of Memphis, Tennessee, Larry Bowden II (wife: Lea) of Muncie, Indiana; two granddaughters, Vanessa N. May of Springport , Indiana, TaLisa (husband: Michael) Dorton of Hinesville, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Cameron Sharp-May of New Castle, Indiana, Caleb and Taylor Clauson of Memphis , Tennessee. Jerry is also survived by his six brothers, Samuel (wife: Maxine), Vernon (wife: Rosella), Lansford (wife Georgia), Arlie (wife: Glenda), John (wife: Linda), Tony (wife: Janet) and three sisters Jancie Parker, Eulalia Blevins and Alice Raikes, all of Morehead, Kentucky; father in-law, I. Lloyd Hollingsworth of Springport, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Jerry retired from GM/New Venture Gear in 2001 after 34 years of service. He was also a member of Bethel United Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother R. Hoyt Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the May Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John May, Dwayne May, Doug May, Tony Puckett, Joshua May, and Dustin May. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
