Jerry Helphinstine, age 68, of Mooresville, Indiana, formerly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 14, 1941, in Hillsboro, Kentucky, son of the late Floyd and Dorothy Fogleman Helphinstine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joy. Jerry is survived by his wife, Hazel Baker Helphinstine, to whom he was united in marriage December 21, 1963; son, Jerry -Cowboy- Helphinstine, Jr., of Mooresville; daughter, Karyn Lawrence and husband Dale of Mooresville, Indiana; sister, Jo Ann Willeroy of Morehead, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Joshua and Jesse Lawrence. Mr. Helphinstine worked for Amtrak as a carman for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed camping, fishing, model airplanes, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky. Visitation: Thursday, February 4, 2010, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral: Friday, February 5, 2010, 11 a.m. Interment: Hillsboro Cemetery
