Jerry Ray Adams, age 66, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born June 30, 1956, in Fleming County, he was a son of the late Richard Lee Adams and Virginia Ruth Riley Adams.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick Ray Beamon, and two brothers, Terry Adams and David Lee Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bettsy Carter Adams, whom he married April 3, 1976; one daughter, Virginia Betsy Adams Stephens of Morehead; five grandchildren, Jerry Lee Frederick (Emily), Leslie Frederick (Levi), Carly Pennington (Dennis), Matthew Stephens, and Kelly Stephens; and seven great grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers: Tommy Adams (Jean) of Clearfield, Archie "Duke" Adams (Brenda), and Ronnie Adams, all of Morehead; one sister, Sarah Adams,  of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Jerry was a self-employed mechanic and owner of Jerry's Excavating Service.  He enjoyed working on his equipment, old cars and trucks, raising pigs, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Senior Pastor Joe Cline officiating.  Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Dalton Crockett, Sam Pack, Danny Tackett, Billy Goodman, Jon Little, and Jerry Lee Frederick.  Honorary pallbearers:  Matthew Stephens, Dennis Pennington, and Levi Dailey.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
