Jeanine Lee Barker Griffey, 86, of Frankfort, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Born October 10, 1935, in Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Milt Barker and Treda Pelfrey Baker Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Griffey, Sr.; two brothers and their spouses, Audie (Florence) Barker of Wisconsin, and Matt (Hazel) Barker of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, David Fortune of Frankfort; two sons-in-law, Larry E. McRoberts of Olive Hill and Johnny Cox of Frankfort; an infant great grandson, Landen L. Stamper of Morehead; and a special niece, Retha Collins Lewis.
Jeanine is survived by five daughters, Teresa (Gary) Robinson of Bellevue; Melissa Collins of Seneca, South Carolina, Debbie Cox of Frankfort, Eugenia Griffey of Lexington, and Kim Hall of Frankfort; a son, Paul E. Griffey, Jr. of Salt Lick; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Lowell (Linda) Barker of Ashland; a sister, Eulane Fortune of Midway; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Griffey of Winchester and Elizabeth Griffey of Indiana; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends that will miss her greatly.
She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 9, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
Following the visitation, a graveside service and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Vanhoose Cemetery, Vanhoose Cemetery Road, Olive Hill, with Brother J C Bond officiating.
Pallbearers: Gary Robinson, Nathan Vanlandingham, Billy Hall, Mitchell Collins, Gage Vanlandingham, and Harley Hall.
