Obituary

Jeannette Jean 'Jan' Jacobs Campbell Hoffman, age 78, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 23, 1938, in Battle Creek, Michigan, she was the daughter of Clarence Eugene and Thelma Louise Hoffman Jacobs. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Campbell, Sr., and Nello Hoffman, and three sisters: Joyce Martin, Beulah 'Boots' Carbine, and Beverly Cole. She is survived by three sons: Jack Campbell, Sr. (Jenny) of Dayton, Ohio, Michael Campbell (Jackie) of Morehead, Robert Campbell (Tracy) of Havelock, North Carolina; one stepson: Nello Hoffman II (Judy) of Richland, Michigan; one daughter: Sherrell Campbell (Kevin) of Bellevue, Washington; three stepdaughters: Linda Yesh (Allen) of Old Fanning Springs, Florida, Wanda Hoffman (Leroy) of Vermontville, Michigan, Rhonda Wiescholek (Gary) of Union City, Michigan; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include one half-brother: Phillip Jacobs of Battle Creek, Michigan; two step brothers: Michael Jacobs of Henderson, Nevada, and Roger Jacobs of Conway, South Carolina; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Jan, a former resident of Michigan and Florida, moved to Morehead four years ago to be with family. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Jan also enjoyed her work as a cashier in retail stores, collecting owl memorabilia, and loving her pets-'Chi Chi, her dog, and Ki Ki, her cat. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Battle Creek, Michigan. Memorial contributions are suggested to STAR (Saving the Animals of Rowan), P. O.
