Jean Kincaid Browning Newman, age 83, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at UK - St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead. Born on March 3,1942, in Poplar Plains, Fleming County, Jean was a daughter of the late William Browning and Lillie Mae Kincaid Browning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John R. Newman, Jr. on December 12, 1980; a brother-in-law, Charles Rissleman; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Browning, She is survived by her husband, John R. "Johnny Ray" Newman, Sr., one beloved daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Joshua Adams of Ashland; and two special grandchildren, Michaela Polley and Kaden Adams. Other survivors include one brother, Johnny Browning; one sister, Louise Rissleman, both of Tampa, Florida; several nieces and nephews; a special bird, Freddie, as well as extended family, neighbors, and dear friends. Jean and Johnny Ray owned and operated Newman's Grocery for several years, she was a former employee for the Fleming County Board of Education, and was a state certified in-home family care provider for 20 years. She was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Fox Valley Community Church. Jean dedicated her life to her family and community, always offering kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. She loved birds, watching Life Time movies, and most of all, Jean loved visiting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a treasured friend to many. Jean touched countless lives and will be greatly missed. Private graveside services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, at Newman Cemetery with Pastor Darrell Marshall officiating.
Pallbearers: Josh Adams, Kaden Adams, Shawn Royse, Mike Royse, Rick Snow, and Terry Sages.
