Jasper Brown, Jr., age 85, of Trent Ridge, Morehead, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the home of his daughter in Owingsville. He was born May 6, 1929, in Elliott County, a son of the late Jasper and Stella Binion Brown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie Trent Brown, who passed away January 1, 2008; two sons, Roger Dale Brown and Virgil Darrel Hall; one grandson, Chad David Brown; four brothers; and five sisters. He is survived by three sons, David Randall (Randy) Brown of Owingsville, Talmadge Junior (Timmy) Brown of Morehead, and Ricky Brown of Hillsboro; five daughters, Marita Justine Adkins of Sandy Hook, Judy Kay McCarty of Salt Lick, Michella Renae Smedley of Morehead, Shawna Marie Goldie of Owingsville, and Genevie Payne of Haldeman; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Other survives include one brother and two sisters, Roosevelt Brown of Indiana, Clara Henderson of Ohio, and Goldie McPheters of Tennessee, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jasper had been a farmer and sawmill and strip mine worker. He was of the Church of God faith. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Jason Trent Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jason Dale Brown, Ricky Jason Brown, Kelli Brown, Shaun Adkins, Tyler Crawford, Dean Goldie, Bobby Howard, and Mike Smedley.
