Janice "Evon" Fraley Stevens, age 83, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at her home. Born April 13, 1935, in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Frank Fraley and Margaret Pennington Fraley. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Carpenter, and a great granddaughter, Elaina Skye. On December 24, 1952, Evon was united in marriage to her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Stevens, Jr., who went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2017. She is survived by one son, Randall Monroe "Randy" Stevens (Debbie Lynn) of Morehead; one daughter, Brenda Winkleman (Carl) of Morehead; five grandchildren, Penny Henderson, Eric Stevens, Bradley Winkleman, Amber Winkleman, and Lori Winkleman; 7 great grandchildren, Haley, Lakean, Michael, Jada, Logan, Isabella, and Ezekiel, and anxiously awaiting the birth of a great granddaughter, Saydee Marie, in January. Other survivors include two nephews, John and Charles Byerly, who received devoted care from Evon and Tom for many years; her church family and many friends. In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Evon was the former co-owner of Green Valley Nursery and enjoyed working on her farm, taking care of her flowers, and selling Avon. She also enjoyed sewing and reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as neighbors and friends. She was a loyal member of Elliottville Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Randy Stevens, Carl Winkleman, Eric Stevens, Brad Winkleman, Billy Henderson, Dickie Blair, and Keith Pack. Honorary pallbearers: Great grandchildren, Bobby Mabry and Bro. Tim Rhodes. Visitation is 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
