Obituary

Janet Renée Stamper Caskey, age 46, of Morehead, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Morgan County, Kentucky, on August 6, 2016. Born September 25, 1969, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna McClain Stamper. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her fiancé, Tom Tufts, who passed away August 6, 2016. Janet is survived by one son, Derik Caskey and wife Celia of Ezel; one daughter, Brooke Caskey of Morehead; one granddaughter, Kyran Caskey; and the father of her children and companion of 32 years, Richie Caskey of Morehead. Other survivors include one brother, John Stamper of Clearfield; four sisters, Jennifer Wallace of Clearfield, Debbie Goodman of Morehead, Robin Stegall of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Kathy Davis of Morehead; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Janet was a 1987 graduate of Rowan County High School. She was a former employee of Family Dollar Distribution Center, where she worked for 15 years, and was currently working as a caregiver for an elderly couple. She enjoyed life, listening to music, dancing, riding motorcycles and being outside. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially granddaughter Ki, whom she loved dearly. Janet touched many lives and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Jeff McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Richie Caskey, Regina Lacy, Jamie Goodman, Billy Goodman, Cody Davis, and Rob Wallace. Visitation is 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Contributions in memory of Janet may be made to the funeral home.
