Obituary

James Arnold Weaver, age 77, of Wallingford, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013, from injuries sustained in a vehicle collision on I-64 near Owingsville. He was born November 16, 1935, in Wallingford, a son of the late Earl Weaver and Rebecca Frances Skaggs Weaver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Jr., Ronald, David Gene, and Estill Carl Weaver. James Arnold is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janet Smith Shaw Weaver, whom he married November 8, 1986; four sons, James Arnold Weaver Jr. and Dawn of Grove City, Ohio, Rick Weaver of Columbus, Ohio, Mike Weaver and Stephanie of Columbus, Ohio, Bob Weaver and Cindy of Clearfield; one stepson, Richard Shaw of Plainwell, Michigan; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Koons and David of Grove City, Ohio, and Deanna Shaw of Wallingford; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include four brothers, William 'Bill' Weaver, Bob Weaver, Earnie Weaver, and Edsell Weaver, all of Wallingford; one sister, Virginia Mann of Flemingsburg; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Mr. Weaver retired from Columbus Ohio Transit Authority in Columbus, Ohio, and returned to his home area in Wallingford. He was a former bus driver for the Rowan County school system and was a part-time relief driver for Carty and Carty. James Arnold attended the Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery on Weaver Hollow. Pallbearers will be his four sons, his stepson, and Edsell and Dewayne Weaver. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, November 11, 2013, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. Interment: Weaver Cemetery, Weaver Hollow
