James William (J. W.) Maze, age 73, of Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Born March 24, 1937, in Fleming County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy Lee and Ruth Jane Spurlock Maze. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Verne Maze and Bob Maze; two sisters, Nancy Burke and Loretta Maze; and one granddaughter, Kaylee Brook Maze. J. W. is survived by his wife, Wanda June Humphries Maze, whom he married April 30, 1971; four sons, Michael Duane Humphries of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, William Matthew Maze, Marty Lee Maze, and Kyle Mason Maze, all of Hillsboro, Kentucky; two daughters, Alice June Porter of Mt. Carmel, Kentucky, and April Jan Maze of Hillsboro, Kentucky; and 13 grandchildren. J. W. was a farmer. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. George Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby McIntyre, Vernon Walker, Jamie Hawkins, Joey Porter, Justin Gray, and Harold Dean Sorrell. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, KY.
