James V. Thompson, Jr., age 60, of Stacy Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born October 7, 1948, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the son of Juanita R. Briles Thompson of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late James V. Thompson, Sr. James is survived by his wife, Judy Stacy Thompson; four sons, James Virgil Thompson III, Timothy W. (Yvonne) Thompson and Jeremiah Joseph (Stephanie) Thompson, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Terry James Thompson of Abilene, Texas; two stepsons, Anthony (April) Stacy of Morehead, Kentucky, and Robert D. (Leslie) Stacy of Gainesville, Florida; one brother, Richard Glennis (Sue) Thompson of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Deborah (Talmadge Jr.) Lewis of Georgetown, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Linda Stacy; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews. James served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a former welder with Trinity Industries in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Nickell and the Rev. Carlos Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams-Plank Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be James Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Anthony Stacy, Robert Stacy, and Richard Thompson. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Friday, June 19, 2009, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. Interment: Adams-Plank Cemetery
