Obituary

James Thomas 'Speedy' Riddle, age 90, of Treadway Drive, Owingsville, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at his residence. He was born August 4, 1925, in Lafayette, Indiana, a son of the late George William and Oma Chaney Riddle. He is survived by his wife, Viola Pickrell Riddle, whom he married June 15, 1949; two daughters, Sandra (Butch) Buttry of Dunedin, Florida, and Regina (Paul) Bush of Owingsville; one sister, Louise Blevins of Louisville, formerly of Owingsville; five grandchildren: Mark (Melissa) Buttry, Kelly Manley, Justin Cline, Derek Bush, and Greg Bush; four great grandchildren Steven Buttry, Jacob Buttry, Lily Rose Buttry and Benjamin Manley. Speedy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired auto mechanic and former employee of Doug Lane Chrysler/Plymouth in Mt. Sterling, Ray Bailey Auto Sales in Bath County, and Homan Stull Auto Sales in Montgomery County. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, hunting, and collecting knives and guns. He was of the Christian faith. Private services with military honors will be held at the Owingsville Cemetery at a later date. Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead is caring for arrangements. Visitation: o visitation. Funeral: Private graveside service at a later date. Interment: Owingsville Cemetery, Owingsville, Kentucky
