James C. Saunders, age 77, of Morehead Road, Wallingford, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born October 25, 1934, in Fleming County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Monroe and Hazel Lee Basford Saunders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Holland Saunders, on May 9, 2011, and one brother, Paul Reese Saunders, in 2003. James is survived by three sons, Paul Clayton Saunders and Jamie Monroe Saunders, both of Wallingford, Kentucky, and Johnny Lane Saunders of Georgetown, Kentucky; two grandsons, Jordan Saunders and Jonathon Saunders; and one sister, Juanita Jewell Saunders of Greensboro, North Carolina. James was a lifelong farmer and carpenter. He enjoyed camping and senior citizens activities. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Johnson, Tim Vise, Billy Johnson, Gerald Saunders, Jordan Saunders, and Jonathon Saunders. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Licking Valley Nutrition Center, 100 W.
