James Grant Roe, Jr.

James Grant Roe, Jr., age 61, of Hwy 746, Wellington, KY, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home following a battle with cancer.

He was born March 11, 1965, in Campton, Kentucky, the son of the late James Grant Roe and Susan Hughes Prater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Grant Roe.

Survivors to cherish his memory include three children, Bryan Roe of Morehead, KY, Samantha Bush (Chad) of Jeffersonville, KY, and Jamie Roe of Clearfield, KY; one sister, Angela Johnson of Wellington, KY; eight grandchildren; extended family and friends.

James was a man of God. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, riding his motorcycle, and watching the U.K. Wildcats. He especially enjoyed basketball and football games. James will be greatly missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
