James Paul Roe, age 71, of Woodland Lane, Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington after an extended illness. Born February 19, 1947, in Morgan County, he was a son of the late Leslie and Eula Lawson Roe. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Hershel, Drexel, Mac and Glen Roe; one sister, Myrtel Kathryn Roe; and one grandson, Sean Douglas Roe. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Parks Roe; one daughter, Tina and Lowell Keeton of Jeffersonville; one son, Paul Douglas Roe of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Crystal Keeton, Noah Roe, Jada Roe, and Anthony Roe and many special relatives and friends. Paul was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and retired from A. O. Smith in Mt. Sterling. He was a loving husband, father, and papaw. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville with Sammy Parks officiating. Pallbearers: Jason Lawson, Terry Lawson, Teddy Jones, Curtis Parks, Donnie Sowder, Wally Johnson, John Parks, and Jermiah Parks.
