Obituary

James Oscar Lambert, age 74, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born January 14, 1935, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Ollie and Jewell D. Caudill Lambert. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Lambert and Vernon Lambert. His wife, Betty S. Hibbard Lambert, passed away September 1, 2001. Oscar is survived by three brothers: Gary Lambert and his wife Melody of Morehead, Kentucky, Paul Lambert of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and John Lambert and his wife Sara of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; four sisters, Juanita Armstrong of Morehead, Kentucky, Hilda Preziosi and husband Frank of Boynton Beach, Florida, Zora Hiler and husband Gene of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Blandena Valerian and husband Bob of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews. Oscar served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 20 years and was a Master Gunnery Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Vernon Winston Lambert officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Family will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements for James Oscar Lambert are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: o visitation.
