James Calvert Norris, age 72, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at his residence. Born July 28, 1941, in Bath County, he was a son of the late Mayo Calvert Norris and Abbie America Reeves Norris. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Norris and Ruby Beers. James is survived by two brothers, Bill Norris and wife Alice of Mt. Sterling and Allen Mayo Norris and wife Carol of Topping, Virginia; four sisters, Lynda Donathan and husband Randy of Morehead, Lucy Williams and husband Rick of Morehead, Brenda Leyendecker of Lexington, and America Egan of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews. James was a carpenter and journeyman plumber. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Slate Valley Cemetery in Bath County. Pallbearers: Randy Donathan, Rick Williams, Mike Egan, Allen Norris II, James Engle, Ricky Lewis, Jeremy Dulaney, and Will Norris.
