James Michael -Mike- Roberts, age 54, of Fox Cliff Road, Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He was born April 8, 1956, in Welch, West Virginia, the son of James Nelson and Carletta Jean Burchett Roberts of Wellington, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife, Marsha Standifer Roberts; one son, Cody James Roberts of Beijing, China; one daughter, Melanie Lena Ellingsen and husband Eric John of Glen View, Illinois, and one step granddaughter, Jessie Ellingsen. He was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Sue Roberts, and one brother, Brian Keith Roberts. Mike was a 1976 graduate of Lincolnway High School in New Lenox, Illinois, and worked for a number of years as a cabinet maker at Tri-Star Cabinet Company in New Lenox. Mike especially enjoyed fishing, Bluegrass and gospel music, and visiting with friends. He loved his family and derived the greatest joy from them. Mike attended Salt Lick Free Will Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Kenny Terrell, Bobby Tackett, Wallace Rogers, Jerry Adkins, Leslie Viars, and Bill Cummings. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
