James 'Jimmy- Perry Markwell, age 79, of Kentucky 801 North, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at his residence. Born August 19, 1930, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mildred Faye Jones Markwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan Dawn Sloan, on September 18, 2008. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Alfetta Thomas Markwell; one son, Jimmy Markwell and wife Paula of Morehead, Kentucky; two daughters, Valerie Jill Armstrong of Virginia, and Jennifer Markwell Johnson of Morehead, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Tanya Rowan, Alex Armstrong, Jeremy Sloan, Dylan Johnson, Matthew Markwell, and Tyler Sargent. Jimmy retired from Morehead State University and was a member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lanny Eldridge, Josh Eldridge, Brandon Howard, Jeremy Sloan, Dylan Johnson, and Joe Hamm.
