James Oliver Lambert, age 88, of Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. He was born November 16, 1922, at Clearfield, Kentucky, son of the late Eli Anderson (Andy) Lambert and Lula Ethel Baldridge Lambert. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers; two sisters; two sons, infant Michael Ray Lambert in 1954 and James Mitchell Lambert in 2007 and his wife Mary Etta Cooper Lambert and two grandsons, Ryan Neil Lambert in 1998 and James Mitchell Lambert, Jr., in 2010. Elnora Fay Mynhier Lambert, his wife of 68 years, whom he wed July 18, 1942, passed away September 25, 2010. James is survived by two sons, Anthony Lambert of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Larry and Chris Lambert of Morehead, Kentucky; four daughters, Brenda and Jim Chadwick of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Patricia and Darius Lewis, Connie and Edward Staton, and Kimberly Lynn Lambert and John Hamm, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Naoma Maines of Clearfield, Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. James was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardenees, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was the recipient of the EAME Theater Ribbon w/5 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, and World War II Victory Medal. A lifelong resident of Clearfield, James was a barber-stylist and owned and operated Roffler-s of Morehead for many years. He enjoyed gardening and the great outdoors. A member of the Church of God, James eagerly shared his faith. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Stone and Rev. Winston McClurg officiating. Burial will follow in Clearfield Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Sons and sons-in law will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is after 7 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY. Visitation: Friday, July 8, 2011, after 7 p.m. Funeral: Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment: Clearfield Cemetery
