James Ray "Jimbo" Moore, 59, of Dusty Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born August 17, 1961, in Morehead, he was the son of James Ray Moore, who passed away February 7, 1970, and Carolyn Annabella Tucker Moore, who passed away June 11, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steven Burns Moore, on September 16, 2007, and a brother-in-law, Dale Brown, on June 21, 2019.
Jimbo is survived by three children, Jessica Conn (Greg) of Fleming County, KY, James Tyler and Jenny Rae Moore, both of Morehead; four grandchildren, Josie Reed of Owingsville and Allie, Annie and Asher Conn, all of Fleming County, as well as his beloved K-9 companion and buddy, Copper (Red Healer).
Other survivors include two sisters, Leigh Ann Moore of Lancaster and Jenny Brown of Covington; a sister-in-law, Jana McIntosh Moore of Morehead; a nephew, Brandon Moore, and a niece, Ashley Moore, both of Morehead.
Jimbo worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator for more than forty years and was currently an employee with The Allen Company in Winchester. He graduated from Rowan County High School in 1979 where he played football and basketball. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and UK basketball, grilling out, winding down in the evenings, and most of all spending time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Stan Click officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery on Messer Road.
Pallbearers: Jack Little, James Moore, Brandon Moore, Cole Caldwell, Tim Kelsey, John Kelsey, and Stonie Cline. Honorary Pallbearers: Uncle Dan Tucker, Ron Tucker, Greg Conn, Bill Kelsey.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
