James Albert Gearhart, age 48, of Danville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. Born November 19, 1960, in Boyd County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Albert and Ann Elizabeth Shrout Gearhart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Antha and Eddie Gearhart; maternal grandparents, Bertha Hatton and Taulbee Shrout; and two brothers and one sister, Curtis, Darrell, and Shirley Gearhart. James is survived by five sisters, Phyllis Allen, Madeline Ferguson, Priscilla Dadisman, and Janet Demaree, all of Louisville, KY and Brenda Groat of CA. Also surviving are three uncles, Lawrence Shrout of Bath County, KY, Wam Shrout of FL, and Jack Gearhart of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two aunts, Eddia Mae Stewart of Owingsville, KY and Sarah Penick of Morehead, KY; three special cousins, Ray and Eddie Gearhart of Morehead, KY and Ronnie Butcher of Bath County, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 2 at p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Gearhart Cemetery in Carter County, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY.
