James Avery Dillon, age 62, Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington. Born September 9, 1953, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of the late Elmer and Gracie Slusher Dillon. James is survived by two sons, Brandon James Dillon of Indiana and David Blake Dillon of Lexington; one granddaughter, Payton Dillon of Paducah; one sister, Kay Perry and husband Arlie of Morehead; the mother of his children, Diana Brown of Elizabethtown; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. He was a graduate of Rowan County High School and attended Morehead State University. James enjoyed fishing and his two dogs, Gerdie and Maggie. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. A private family service will be held at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
