James Carl Cox, age 65, of Waverly, Ohio, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009, at his residence. Born June 15, 1944, in Elliott County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charlie and Lula Stegall Cox. Carl is survived by his companion of 29 years, Rose Dehart Perry; three stepchildren, David Haines of Oneonta, Alabama, Donna Haines of Morehead, Kentucky, and Anita Perry of Waverly, Ohio; 9 step grandchildren; and 7 step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two nieces, Sharon Kiser Scarberry and Roseanna Kiser Perkins; three nephews, Wayne Kiser, Timothy Kiser, and Robert Kiser; two great nieces, Kristy Kiser and Kimberly Kiser; and a special friend, Kurt Nickles. Carl was a former sawmill worker and truck driver. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jack Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Dehart Cemetery on Cranston Road. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
