Obituary

James Chalmer "Chat" Lewis, age 78, of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at his home.

Born April 4, 1941, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Madge Moore Lewis.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman Lewis, Jerry Dale Lewis, and Douglas Wayne Lewis; three sisters, Darlene DeWitt, Terri Lynn Lewis, and Virginia Mae Moore; and mother-in-law, Corda Foster.

Chat is survived by his wife, Sharon Foster Lewis, whom he wed October 22, 1967; two brothers, John Paul (Glenna) Lewis of Morehead and Dennis Lewis of Clearfield; four sisters, Barb (Bobby) Kegley of Morehead, Shirley Shay of Clearfield, Judy (Chuck) Cassara of Morehead, and Sheila Lewis of Clearfield; a special niece, Tasha (Kevin) McCarty of Morehead; many beloved nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.

Chat was a heavy equipment operator and farmer and loved hunting and fishing, joking, and pranking.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Bro. Charles Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers:  Kevin McCarty, Jerry Michael Stamper, Steve Foster, Todd Foster, Jeff Browning, John Moore, Bobby Gregory.  Honorary pallbearers:  Chuck McArthur, Denver Lewis, Clayton Lewis.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
