James Russell Burrows, age 76, of Banta Road, Olive Hill, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 10, 1941, in Farmers, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Gerald James Burrows and Mary Alice Cassity Burrows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Frederick, and Kermit Burrows, and one sister, Norma Jean Curtis. He is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Jean Ridenour of Springfield, Ohio, Tina Lynne Carey and husband Marvin of Olive Hill, and Jacqueline Paige Burrows of Springfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Steve Ridenour III, Natasha Ridenour, Zachary Hill, Samantha Carey, Brandon Carey, and Paige Marratta; and five great grandchildren, Ethan and Aundrea Ridenour and Dennis, Bradley, and Ragnar Hill. Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Jo Hogge and husband Arnold of West Union, Ohio, and Fredia Dear of Springfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. James served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was a retired machinist and Union representative for White Motors Corporation in Springfield, Ohio, where he worked for 38 years. He was a former member of the Kissel Lodge #674 and the F & AM in Springfield, Ohio, a 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a former Shriner with Antioch Temple. James enjoyed gardening and his pets (cats and dogs). He was a longtime member of the Lower Valley Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dale Stumbo, Springfield, Ohio, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126, who will also serve as pallbearers.
