Obituary

Jacob Paul "Jake" Bowman, age 33, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born July 15, 1989, in Morehead, he is the son of Kimberly Morehouse Moore of Morehead and the late George Paul "Gip" Bowman II.

He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Morehouse Moore (Steve Kelsey) of Morehead; three brothers, John Michael Bowman of Olive Hill, Ted William Moore (Paola) of Virginia, and Nicholas Anthony Moore of San Diego, California; two sisters, Whitney Courtney of Melbourne, Florida, and Krissi Courtney of Mt. Sterling; maternal grandmother, Penny Morehouse; paternal grandmother, Diana Moore Bowman, both of Morehead; and a special niece, Haven Bowman.

Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Tracy and Matt Sparks and Mike and Jamie Bowman, all of Morehead; cousins, Matthew and Tabbie Martin, Katie Martin and Luke Carswell, Blake Bowman, and Sean Bowman; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Holly Russell; maternal grandfather, Bob Morehouse; and paternal grandfather, George Paul Bowman.

Jake graduated from Rowan County Senior High School and attended Kentucky Christian College where he played football.  He was a pipefitter for PLC Construction Inc. in Kerrville, Texas.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and loved working on the farm.  Jake treasured time spent with his family and friends, whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin, Pastor Mark Caldwell, and Ryan Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers:  Brad Stacy, Logan Barker, Chris Callihan, Taylor Stevens, Brett Norman, Wayne Stevens, Chris Branham, and Cole Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers:  Jonathan Duff, Travis Sorrell, Toby Glover, Ryan Hoffman, Eddie Young, Brad Murphy, Joe Mabry, Cody Plank, Dustin Davis, Jay McCormick, Alex Stevens, Josh Hammonds, Cody Wilson, Jesse Spears, Nate Cox, Jonathan Fannin, Malcom Fultz, Lee Jordan, Chris Jervis, and JoJo Neely.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
